You are here: Home » What We Do » Reaching the unreached » Leprosy
Leprosy-affected individuals in the identified area face discrimination, social isolation, loss of sensation, physical disabilities, and limited opportunities due to stigma, misconceptions, and historical prejudice. Through our support, initiatives are taken to improve the quality of 252 people living in the area – offering both physical and emotional care. The identified 62 individuals affected by leprosy have been provided with shelter. Further, we render our support for medical treatment, psychological care, vocational training, legal protection, community reintegration and financial assistance to meet their daily needs. The education of their children are taken care of by us and the women members in the community are given financial support to start an alternate employment for income generation.
