The fishing community plays a vital role in coastal regions, but they face various challenges that affect their livelihoods. SCAD recognizes the importance of supporting the fishing community and has implemented initiatives to address their needs. The organization organizes them into self-help groups, fostering a sense of unity and collective empowerment. Through these groups, SCAD initiates Income Generation Projects (IGPs) to provide alternative employment opportunities, helping the community diversify their income sources. In times of disaster, SCAD has been quick to extend support to the fishing community by providing new boats, repairing damaged boats, and supplying vessels for selling fish and fishing nets. These efforts aim to enhance the resilience and economic stability of the fishing community, enabling them to overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being.
