At Social Change and Development (SCAD), we are deeply committed to empowering individuals with disabilities and fostering a more inclusive society. Our Appropriate Paper-based Technology (APT) Initiative is a testament to this commitment, as it brings transformative change to the lives of children with special needs, especially those affected by Cerebral Palsy.
In communities where resources for children with special needs are limited, SCAD’s APT Initiative shines as a beacon of hope. This program is tailored to cater to the unique needs of children with disabilities, their parents, teachers, persons with disabilities, and our dedicated CBR (Community-Based Rehabilitation) workers.
Our APT Initiative is designed to provide tailored interventions and cost-effective adaptive devices, ensuring that every child with special needs has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life. The positive impact of our APT initiative ripples through the community, bringing about:
Enhanced Quality of Life: We work diligently to improve the quality of life for children with disabilities, providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive.
Increased Access: Our initiative expands access to adaptive devices, breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive environment for all.
Skill Enhancement: We empower caregivers, including parents and teachers, with valuable skills and knowledge to better support children with special needs.
Community Empowerment: Our APT Initiative fosters a more inclusive and empowered community that embraces and supports individuals with disabilities.
To date, we have conducted 51 training programs as part of our APT Initiative. These programs have not only improved the lives of children with disabilities but have also had a positive impact on their caregivers and the broader community. Through this initiative, we have distributed 300 APT devices, providing much-needed support to differently-abled individuals.
SCAD’s APT Initiative is a symbol of our unwavering commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. We invite you to be a part of this transformative journey as we strive to create a brighter, more inclusive future for children with special needs.
By supporting SCAD, you’re not just contributing to the well-being of children with disabilities; you’re helping us build a society that values and embraces diversity. Together, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
If you’re interested in partnering with us, volunteering, or contributing to our cause, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your support can help us continue our vital work in empowering disabled communities and expanding our reach even further.
At SCAD, we believe that true change begins with inclusion and development is most impactful when compassionate hearts and dedicated hands come together. Join us in our mission to empower lives and create a more inclusive society for children with special needs and their families.
