You are here: Home » What We Do » Farming
Food security is a major issue in Tamil Nadu with prices running at an all time high. Climate change affects the region resulting in drought, poor soils, water depletion. Many of the farmers are small scale producers who often isolated and lacking support and knowledge.
We provide advice, support and information on the latest technological advances to help farmers cultivate the best crops from the land and to raise healthy animals.
Our support for farmers includes:
– the Krishi Vigyan Kendra – our farm science centre, supported by the Central Government of India – which develops innovative technologies to the local farming communities.
– biofertiliers – using various methods to boost condition of the soil
– veterinary services for all livestock farmers
– fishery training for the keeping of freshwater fish in the reservoirs
Our agricultural approach is organic and sustainable in order to harness the best of what nature can offer. That way we can keep farmers’ costs down and spend our energies in maximising yields instead.
