SCAD is committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by the Gypsy community, recognizing the importance of education as a pathway to a brighter future. To ensure that Gypsy children have access to quality education, SCAD operates a dedicated school exclusively for them.
Our school for the children of Gypsies is located in the heart of the Gypsy colony in Pettai, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India. This institution serves as a beacon of hope, offering a safe and supportive environment for Gypsy children to pursue their education.
At our school, we believe in providing comprehensive support to nurture the holistic development of these young minds:
Education: We offer quality education, ensuring that Gypsy children have access to the knowledge and skills needed to build a brighter future.
Basic Needs: To eliminate barriers to learning, we provide uniforms, breakfast, and lunch, ensuring that children come to school well-fed and ready to learn.
Healthcare: We run periodic medical camps, addressing the healthcare needs of these children and promoting their well-being.
Community Engagement: The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) is actively involved, fostering collaboration between parents and teachers to support the children’s education.
To date, 2676 Gypsy students have benefited from our school. This achievement is a testament to the transformative power of education and the unwavering commitment of SCAD to empower marginalized communities.
We invite you to join us in our mission to empower Gypsy children through education. By supporting SCAD, you’re not just contributing to education; you’re helping us create a future where every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to learn and grow.
If you’re interested in partnering with us, volunteering, or contributing to our initiatives, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your support can help us continue our vital work in promoting education and transforming the lives of Gypsy children.
At SCAD, we believe that true change begins with education and empowerment, and development is most impactful when compassionate hearts and dedicated hands come together. Join us in our mission to create a world where every child’s potential is realized, and together, we can make a lasting difference.
