At Social Change and Development (SCAD), we understand that education has the power to transform lives. Our unwavering commitment to providing educational opportunities has touched the hearts and minds of countless children, ensuring that they have the chance to pursue their dreams.
SCAD’s educational initiatives are as diverse as the communities we serve. We reach out to children from various backgrounds, including gypsies, leprosy sufferers, saltpan workers, semi-orphans, and orphans. Through a range of programs such as schools, Balwadys, sponsorship programs, and more, we ensure that these children have access to quality education.
SCAD has played a pivotal role in supporting 7,000 children in their journey towards higher education. We provide financial assistance, mentorship, and guidance, helping these children overcome barriers and fulfill their aspirations of obtaining a higher education degree. By doing so, we empower them to achieve their fullest potential.
We believe that the learning environment plays a crucial role in a child’s education. To create conducive spaces for learning, we renovate rural schools. This includes refurbishing the floors, roofs, painting the walls, upgrading blackboards, and improving sanitation facilities, ensuring that children have a safe and welcoming place to study.
We also focus on environmental sustainability by establishing rainwater harvesting tanks in schools. This encourages the practice of saving rainwater and converting it into drinking water through a three-layer filter system. Additionally, we establish school gardens to instill in students the importance of being environmentally friendly and connected to nature. These gardens cultivate pest-free vegetables using locally available inputs.
SCAD goes beyond education by establishing Eco clubs in schools. These clubs promote eco-friendly activities and raise awareness about environmental conservation, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the planet.
We invite you to join us in our mission to transform lives through education. By supporting SCAD, you’re not just contributing to education; you’re helping us create a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a positive impact on the world.
If you’re interested in partnering with us, volunteering, or contributing to our educational initiatives, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your support can help us continue our vital work in promoting education and nurturing the potential of children.
At SCAD, we believe that true change begins with education and empowerment, and development is most impactful when compassionate hearts and dedicated hands come together. Join us in our mission to create a world where every child’s dreams can become a reality, and together, we can make a lasting difference.
