In rural communities, livestock farming, including goat rearing, cow rearing, and backyard poultry, serves as a vital source of income generation. However, the health and well-being of these animals are often threatened by epidemics and various health issues. At SCAD, we are committed to empowering rural farmers by ensuring the health and productivity of their livestock through innovative and compassionate veterinary care.
We employ innovative approaches to help rural farmers achieve better results in animal management, safeguarding their livelihoods and contributing to the overall well-being of their families and communities.
1. Veterinary Camps:
Every year, we organize 50 veterinary camps aimed at monitoring the health of animals. These camps provide a lifeline for livestock, with nearly one crore animals receiving essential treatments and vaccinations. By ensuring the health of these animals, we enable farmers to secure their primary source of income.
2. Veterinary Link Workers:
Our dedicated veterinary link workers venture into remote villages to provide basic animal care services. These volunteers are trained to vaccinate poultry, de-worm goats, and identify and contain epidemics. Their presence in these often-isolated areas ensures that even the most marginalized farmers have access to crucial veterinary care.
3. Demonstrations and Education:
We conduct demonstrations to educate farmers about the prevention of mastitis and the responsible use of antibiotics. This knowledge empowers farmers to manage their livestock effectively, reduce health risks, and increase productivity.
4. Technical Guidance:
We offer technical guidance to farmers interested in starting cow and goat rearing units, backyard poultry farming, rabbit rearing, and fish cultivation. These initiatives diversify income sources and strengthen the resilience of rural communities.
We invite you to join us in our mission to provide vital veterinary care, empower farmers, and secure the livelihoods of rural communities. By supporting SCAD, you’re not just contributing to animal health; you’re helping us create a future where rural farmers thrive.
If you’re interested in partnering with us, volunteering, or contributing to our initiatives, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your support can help us continue our vital work in promoting sustainable livestock management and improving the lives of rural farmers.
At SCAD, we believe that true change begins with the well-being of animals and the prosperity of farmers, and development is most impactful when compassionate hearts and dedicated hands come together. Join us in our mission to create a world where both animals and rural communities flourish, and together, we can make a lasting difference.
