At Social Change and Development (SCAD), we believe that instilling a sense of environmental responsibility in students is essential for a sustainable future. To achieve this, we have taken proactive steps by establishing Eco Clubs in schools and creating school gardens. These initiatives empower students to become environmental stewards and foster a deep connection with nature.
Our Eco Clubs serve as platforms for promoting eco-friendly activities and environmental awareness among students. We aim to inspire a sense of responsibility towards the environment and encourage students to take meaningful actions to protect it.
One of the hallmark activities of these Eco Clubs is the creation and maintenance of school gardens. These gardens provide students with hands-on learning experiences that instill the values of environmental friendliness and harmonious coexistence with nature. Through the cultivation of pest-free vegetables using locally available inputs, students not only learn sustainable agricultural practices but also develop a deeper appreciation for the environment.
Each year, SCAD establishes around 516 gardens in both Tirunelveli and Tuticorin districts. This growing impact is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the next generation of environmental stewards and promoting sustainable practices.
We invite you to join us in our mission to cultivate environmental awareness and responsibility among students. By supporting SCAD, you’re contributing to the education and empowerment of future generations who will play a crucial role in protecting our planet.
If you’re interested in partnering with us, volunteering, or contributing to our initiatives, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your support can help us continue our vital work in promoting eco-friendly practices and fostering a deep appreciation for nature.
At SCAD, we believe that true change begins with education and empowerment, and development is most impactful when compassionate hearts and dedicated hands come together. Join us in our mission to create a world where every individual values and protects the environment, and together, we can make a lasting difference.
